Project summary:

The Wet Tropics and Burdekin regions of NE Queensland host the greatest number of exotic and translocated pest fish species of any region in Australia. This project aims to: delineate the distribution of these species; study the ecology of the most widespread exotic fish – tilapia; undertake public education programs to stop further spread of such fish; and to devise plans to control new and existing infestations.
